This was a collaborative project led by UWE, Bristol with University of Manchester, University of Bristol, London School of Tropical Medicine and Bristol CCG. The study comprised a national survey of clinical commissioning groups to identify which quality indicators were being applied to community nursing in 2014/15. The survey was followed up by a case study to identify how quality indicators were selected and applied in practice and their usefulness for assessing quality of community nursing from the perspectives of commissioners, service provider managers, frontline staff,as well as patients and carers in five sites across England. Findings were validated in a series of workshops comprising a wider selection of stakeholders across England. The project was completed in December 2016 and the report was published in 2017
